In 1983, The Backdoor Gallery opened its doors in Lenoir City, Tennessee. It was opened by JC McCawn, a local artist, who wanted to share his passion with the world. Some of his original work is featured in our gallery and is for sale. Every piece is signed and numbered by McCawn. For generations, the business has remained a staple in Historic Downtown Lenoir City. 

In 2017, Evelyn Murphy purchased the business from Mary Bright. Evelyn continued to grow the business until she decided to retire in 2021. 

In January of 2022, Rachel Chatfield (Evelyn’s daughter) purchased the business. The Lenoir City business will continue to offer you the best custom framing in East Tennessee.
